The rain never did go away on Nick and Julie’s wedding day, but the joy abounded even more than the drops that were falling outside! There were tears, smiles, laughs and all of the emotions that come along with each of those! At the end of the day, despite the rain and all of the details, these two walked away as husband and wife and began their journey of pursuing one another in love for the rest of their lives!

When I first met Nick and Julie in person at their engagement session, I just knew that their wedding was going to be wonderful! They are two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and they make everyone around them feel so loved and cared for, which is such a gift! From the moment we arrived to the time we had to say goodbye, their wedding day was nothing short of that!

My favorite moment from Nick and Julie’s wedding was their first look! As Nick prepared to see his bride, he was grinning from ear to ear with anticipation, he couldn’t wait! We got him all set in his spot and then I was off to fetch Julie! She descended the stairs and I was about to open the door when she paused for a moment and couldn’t keep the tears in anymore! Walking out the door, she called his name and he turned around to see Julie for the first time in her dress! You’ll see Nick’s face as you scroll through the images below, but let me just say that his reaction was priceless! Their choice to do a first look also saved their pictures! Since the rain never stopped, we had to be smart about how and when we chose to go outside! Thankfully, there was a car port at the church and we were able to make it work for all of their portraits before the ceremony! We didn’t have to worry about rushing through everything in one hour or the anticipation of guests at the reception, we finished everything and then it was time to walk down the aisle!

Nick and Julie, it’s been such a joy to work with you both! Every minutes was incredibly special! Thank you for giving me the honor of photographing your wedding! I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes you on this new journey and I’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines! Enjoy a few of my favorites from your day!

That blue amethyst necklace was worn by both Julie’s mother and grandmother on their wedding days! She carried on that tradition and incorporated it as her something blue! Love this one of Julie and her momma! His reaction is everything! Favorite! The colors of these bridesmaids dresses! I also need to mention that Julie was her own florist! She made her floral dreams come true for her own day! Simply amazing! That just married feeling! Even though the rain didn’t stop, we found another portrait location and snuck a few more in right before the reception! Long veils are my love language! Love this one! Just the sweetest first dance!
