If fall weddings continue to be like the past two, I may be won over from my summer obsession! Just maybe! Steven and Taylor’s wedding day at Polen Farm in Dayton, Ohio was a beauty! From the classic color palette to the actual fall temperatures we experienced, there was no shortage of things to make it such a good day!

The friendships I get to make with my couples are by far my favorite part of being a wedding photographer! I can still remember the first Facetime call when I got to meet Steven and Taylor for the first time! We could have talked for hours about life and all the things! We swapped stories and I got to hear every detail from how they met to the story of Steven proposing while taking a hike on a camping trip! Then we got to walk around Snyder Park for their engagement session in Springfield on what looked like a gloomy day and make some magic to make it look more like a bright and cheery day! We referenced that day so many times and laughed about how excited I got when the sunshine peaked through the trees! And how these two trusted me fully and walked out on a ledge and Steven lifted up Taylor! That same adventure and trust was still there throughout portrait time on their wedding day and it made for so much fun! These two rocked every second and they had the most unique first look! Though it was a bit unplanned! It did give us something to laugh about the rest of the day!

One thing you’ll notice as you scroll through this post is Taylor’s dress change! Fun fact, it was actually the same dress! She said yes to a dress that had a detachable skirt and the biggest reason for that is it gave her the best of both worlds! Steven had mentioned that he’d love to see her wear a more form fitting, classic gown! But Taylor had always dreamed of a ball gown with that big skirt! The dress she chose allowed her to have both! So naturally, we buffered in enough time to capture ample portraits in both dress options! It was so fun to have that type of variety in their wedding photos!

I absolutely loved getting to lead these two through the Wedding Experience and to be the one to celebrate with them and be the one to document it all! Enjoy scrolling through a few of my favorites from their day and join me in congratulating Mr. & Mrs. Sarven!!

Love this one!!
Taylor! You’re gorgeous!
Such a sweet daddy/daughter first look!
This first look is one I won’t soon forget! Taylor accidentally said Steven’s name too soon and we almost missed capturing this reaction! It made for such a lighthearted moment though! A definite nerve eraser!
Get ready for so many beautiful portraits! Reason x1000 why I recommend a first look!
The Flowerman KILLED it (like always!) with the fall florals for this wedding! I can’t help but admire their work!
This could be in a magazine. Don’t you agree?
Love this candid I grabbed when Taylor and her girls were walking to our portrait location!
Taylor! This color scheme is the essence of a classic fall wedding!
Polen Farm, always coming through with an epic bridal party photo opportunity!
Had to grab this iconic bridal portrait!
Fave! That just married feeling!!
Skirt switch! Greatest excuse for more portraits!
Loved this spot and the way the tree is framing things and how you can still see the house!
This glow is the absolute best! You’d never know it wasn’t sunset yet!
One of my absolute favorites from the day!
I’m a little biased, but the photos I get to take with my Rachael Leigh Couples always make my top ten!
