I could say all the things about this session! Like how perfect it was or how amazing these two were in front of the camera within like ten minutes! They’re such naturals and I’m pretty sure I echoed that saying about a hundred times during their session! But my favorite part about Charlie and Katie and their fall session at Sharon Woods was how we left it feeling like old friends! From the minute Katie answered the phone for our video meeting to Charlie stepping out of the car at their engagement session, it felt like I was meeting two people I had known forever! They just have the ability to make people feel loved and welcomed!

When we arrived at Sharon Woods and started walking around to find the perfect spot for their session, Charlie began describing the history of the park to Katie and I and we were so impressed! Come to find out, he had done a little research on the park as soon as Katie and I chose that location! It honestly couldn’t have been more perfect for them! We talked about our shared love for American History and the colonial architecture and had so much fun as we explored more of the park!

I think my favorite part of their session was when we decided to get a little “dangerous” and get some pictures with the barn in the background! We made our way around, hopped a fence and noticed a sign that indicated we really shouldn’t be taking pictures in that area… But that didn’t phase these two, we pulled out all the stealthiness we could and quickly captured all the pictures we could while not getting kicked out of the park! It was so much fun! I don’t think we laughed more during the entire session than we did while we were technically “breaking the rules”! ha ha!

The story of how they met and found each other again is honestly as cute as they are! Charlie and Katie “officially” met in the seventh grade gym class! They ran in the same friend circle throughout high school, but nothing really sparked until they “happened” to bump into each other again during their senior year of college! And in Katie’s words, “the rest was history”! They got engaged early last year while hiking to the top of a mountain in Asheville!

I’m counting down the days until I get to see these two again and document their intimate wedding day at French Park this spring! Katie has told me all about her unique vision for the day and I couldn’t be more excited! So while you wait for their wedding blog post, enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session! I love the way Charlie is looking at her in this one! And the joy! Goodness! This is one of my FAVORITES of Katie! Isn’t she gorgeous! This waterfall was so pretty! And these two were such troopers for climbing down on those slippery rocks for me! The infamous barn! It was so worth “breaking” a few rules to snag these, right? Katie! I repeat, you are GORGEOUS! Oh! I love this one, too! Oh! The was she looks at him! Love this ring shot! You wouldn’t believe that it was taken on a walking path in the dead grass that was growing in a crack, would you! So thankful that Charlie and Katie trusted me and didn’t doubt this really crazy idea!
