The honor of photographing the wedding of a friend of a past couple is one I don’t take lightly! I got to meet Jessie when she was a bridesmaid in Joel and Anna’s wedding last spring! She was the absolute sweetest to work with throughout the entire day and at the reception she stole me away for a quick second to introduce me to Luke and inform me that once they got engaged, I’d be receiving an email! A few months later, she kept her promise! I saw her inquiry pop into my inbox and I was ecstatic! Luke had proposed and she was eager to tell me that it was her turn and she got to share her story and walk through the Wedding Experience!

Saturday was accompanied with both beautiful weather and just an overall beautiful day! The biggest thing that stands out is just how loving everyone was. You could see in so many little ways that everyone there was genuinely excited for both Luke and Jessie and were ready to do whatever they could to help! From the bridesmaids being there for every little thing that Jessie needed, to their entire family rallying to help decorate and set up! It was definitely a family affair! When MD and I walked in, we were greeted by Jessie’s maid of honor, Ellen, and she took us around and showed us everything! She then led us to the house where Jessie was already finished getting ready and the excitement on her face was everything!

Family is a huge priority for both Luke and Jessie and that was evident throughout their day! Jessie chose to share a first look with her dad and her brother and it was the sweetest thing! Capturing the moment that a dad gets to see his girl in her dress for the first time is such a special moment! Then during the ceremony, they incorporated something that I hadn’t experienced before! Instead of just Jessie’s dad “giving her away” they had both sets of parents come up and say vows just like Luke and Jessie would moments later, but these were vows to support them and to love them as they become one and begin a family of their own! It was so sweet! Luke’s sister and Jessie’s brother also spoke words of encouragement and advice during the ceremony!

Luke and Jessie, congratulations! I’m beyond excited for y’all and this new season of life! You are so loved and we loved getting to spend the day celebrating you! Thanks for making us feel like part of the family! I hope y’al enjoy just a few of my favorites from your day!
