I’ve got to admit, blogging has not been my strong suit over the last few months! Between quarantine and Covid-19 reschedules, life has been a bit crazy around here! But, I’m super glad to be able to share all the beautiful portraits I got to create between May and June! Beginning with Kyle and Jessica’s engagement session!

These two were such troopers! Their first session was originally schedule for early April, just in time for the blooms on the cherry blossom trees! Then. . . the first stay home order dashed all our hopes. We missed out on the blooms, but I was so thankful we only had to wait a month before the getting together at Ault Park for their sunrise session!

And that’s the other reason why I admire them! Y’all! They willingly got up before the crack of dawn, got all dressed up and met me there, all in time to catch the glow of the sunrise light! I always unashamedly declare that I’m not an early bird, at all. So, when clients volunteer to sneak away to locations like Ault Park before the rest of the world wakes up and fills it with their presence, I’m always impressed!

These two love to laugh together and that’s not hard to see! Between their dry sense of humor and the stories they recounted as we strolled around the gardens, there wasn’t really a moment when we got stiff or even a little awkward! It makes me that much more excited to celebrate with them at their wedding this month!

Their wedding day will be a little different than we ever could have imagined when Jessica and I began emailing in January, but at the end of the day, they get to celebrate their marriage surround by those they love! Covid-19 has reminded us of the little things we all took for granted. Like wedding planning, getting together with friends or visiting family. We didn’t realize how important they were until we couldn’t do them anymore. Thankfully, in less than two weeks, Kyle and Jessica will actually be able to do a few of those things as they stand at that altar and say their “I Do’s”! And then they’ll recount all the stories of this crazy season for years to come!
